Damian

Occupational Therapist (Paediatric)

Damian is a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Occupational Therapist who brings a unique blend of clinical knowledge and hands-on disability experience to his practice. After completing his Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Monash University in 2014, Damian spent several years working as a Disability Support Worker and Allied Health Assistant, where he gained invaluable frontline experience supporting children and young people with complex developmental, behavioural, and physical needs.

This foundation has given Damian a deep understanding of the day-to-day realities faced by families navigating disability, and informs his practical, collaborative, and empathetic approach to therapy. Since becoming a practicing Occupational Therapist in 2023, Damian has focused exclusively on working with children and adolescents aged 1–18 years across a wide range of developmental presentations.

Damian has particular clinical interest and experience in supporting children with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • ADHD

  • Developmental Delay

  • Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)

  • Sensory processing challenges

  • Social and emotional regulation needs

His therapy style is integrative and family-centred, placing parents and caregivers at the heart of goal setting, intervention planning, and progress tracking. Damian strongly believes in building capacity within the child’s natural support network, recognising that therapy outcomes are most meaningful and sustainable when embedded into daily routines and relationships.

Damian adopts a play-based and neurodiversity-affirming model, ensuring sessions are engaging, strengths-focused, and tailored to each child’s individual preferences and sensory needs. He works collaboratively with families, teachers, support workers, and other allied health professionals to ensure cohesive and goal-aligned care.

Therapeutic focus areas include:

  • Functional life skills (e.g., dressing, hygiene, eating)

  • Emotional regulation and behaviour support

  • School readiness and classroom participation

  • Fine and gross motor development

  • Social engagement and confidence building

  • Executive functioning and routine development

  • Environmental modifications and assistive strategies

With a naturally calm and gentle demeanour, Damian creates a safe space for children to learn, explore, and grow. His dedication to trauma-informed, relationship-based practice helps families feel heard, empowered, and supported every step of the way.
